The Lighter Side

Creativity is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations between existing ideas or concepts.

The products of creative thought usually have both originality and appropriateness. It has been associated with genius, mental illness and humor. Some say it is a trait we are born with; others say it can be taught with the application of simple techniques.

Although popularly associated with art and literature, it is also an essential part of innovation and invention and is important in professions such as business, economics, architecture, industrial design, science and engineering.

I n this time of material progression and rapid differentiation, it seems that there are two essential problems in the realm of art, architecture, and literature:

The Human Quality of the physical environment, and the Harmony and Unity of man/womankind to his/her environment.

The Art of Architecture tells a story of mankind’s need for more than a convenient shelter for various activities. However, don't confuse the Art of Architecture with an exhibition of an eccentric Fantasy or Nightmare. The Art of Architecture requires discipline in creating elements of the total environment.

The Art of writing a novel or screenplay is, or should be, more than just telling a story. It should excite the senses and bring the observer into the story.

Visual composition with functional organization is essential in each of these art forms.

The creativity of architecture and writing is "an art of life" itself.

This website is dedicated to the "art of life" as created by William Nona in his designs, master planning, and fictional writings. However, the art of life is not totally serious, and does have a lighter side. Your comments are always welcome.
